Perhaps one of the lesser mentioned names was Adan of Real Betis, the same guy who Jose Mourinho picked for Real Madrid instead of Iker Casillas, the beginning of a saga which still has a legacy in Spain to this day.

Spanish newspaper AS on Tuesday quote Adan as confirming there were approaches over the summer: “There were offers, but nothing better than Betis.”

Three clubs are then linked: Napoli, Liverpool, Everton.

Napoli are also fine as far as goalkeepers go, having former Liverpool stopper Pepe Reina, who managed to be included in the most recent Spain squad.

Given AS can only name the three clubs, and all three seem unlikely, it begs the question of where the approaches for Adan actually came from in the first place.
