While the move has yet to be made official by Leicester City, it appears that Timothy Castagne will be featuring for the Foxes next season.
That’s according to a number of claims, with some talking about a £22m fee and a five-year deal for the Belgium international, and now we have confirmation from the 24-year-old himself.
The player decided to have a quick chat with RTBF in his home country about his current situation and the rumours surrounding his future, where he addressed it directly and appeared to tell the world he would be playing at King Power Stadium next season.
He said: “It’s always been my dream to play in the Premier League. It was my priority in terms of leagues compared to the other offers. I also like the style of play at Leicester, which should suit me. I also had a very good feeling with the manager. He contacted me regularly”.
It appears a lot of this comes down to Brendan Rodgers, whom RTBF explain already wanted to work with the player when he was Celtic manager, prior to him taking over at Leicester.
Castagne, in turn, is now likely to team up with two of his national teammates in Youri Tielemans and Dennis Praet, who both made the switch to King Power Stadium over the past year or so.
It’s an exciting time, and it seems Leicester are keen to avoid what happened last season as they narrowly missed out on the Champions League by bolstering their squad with some quality players.
