Earlier this month France’s FootMercato reported that Jurgen Klopp had found himself a new fullback target for Liverpool.
Giving up on AS Monaco’s Benjamin Mendy, it was claimed that Klopp had set his eyes on Henrique Dalbert, who has impressed in his one season at Nice.
FootMercato report that 23 year old Dalbert was ‘preferring’ an approach from Inter Milan, but it was stated he wouldn’t be going anywhere unless someone made an ‘XXL offer’ of around €30m.
That’s led to frustration for the player.
L’Equipe report Dalbert has released a statement explaining how annoyed he is, part of which says: “More than ten European clubs have asked my agent, among them Liverpool and Inter Milan.
“Inter made an offer that can’t be refused, for me and Nice, and I think we will have a favourable outcome for both parties… I count on the understanding of the club’s leaders.”
It sounds like Dalbert still prefers Inter to Liverpool, but it’s Nice who make the decision, and if the Italian side won’t pay up, Klopp has a chance to swoop in and beat them.
