Caleb Ekuban has spoken to Turkish press about his move from Leeds United to Trabzonspor after the Turkish club last week confirmed they will make his switch permanent before the end of the month.
The Ghana international has spent the season on loan with the Super Lig club and has impressed in recent months.
Speaking to Fotomac, Ekuban said he is loving every single minute in and is happy he’ll be remaining with the Turkish club: “I feel really loved here. People show me respect, which is great. At this club, I have managed to get a call up to the national team, and I am playing for my country now.
“I couldn’t wish any better. So, I am very happy that I will stay at Trabzonspor.”
Ekuban spoke about his plans for next season: “We want to be successful in Europe next season and we are looking to do better in the league. I can’t wait for next season!”
It’s been well documented in the Turkish media that Trabzonspor were ready to make the Leeds United player’s move permanent at the end of the season. The 25 year old is now considered the first choice No.9 at the club and will move there for a reported €1m.
His time in Turkey is in total contrast to his one season with Leeds when he scored just one goal following his move to Elland Road from Chievo Verona.
In March, Ekuban made his debut for his country after his impressive performances for Trabzonspor.
