Manchester United youngster Álvaro Fernández is ‘confident’ that Manchester United won’t look to bring him back to the club in the January transfer window.
That’s according to COPE, who cover comments from the player today and his belief he’ll be remaining with Granada rather than returning to Old Trafford.
They explain that Fernández has proven to be one of the ‘most talented footballers’ at Granada this season since arriving on loan from Manchester United in the summer.
He’s been impressing in the first team when given a chance, with nine appearances in La Liga so far and 35% of the available minutes played for the Spain U-21 international.
However, it remains to be seen whether he remains with them as Manchester United have an option to take him back in January should they wish to do so.
He, though, has insisted that he is ‘confident in the finishing the season’ with the Nuevo Los Cármenes team and not being recalled.
That would certainly make sense given Manchester United elected to sign Sergio Reguilón on loan in the summer rather than blood the youngster in the first team.
It seems unlikely that’s changed, even if United have had something of a crisis when it comes to keeping left backs fit so far this season.
Fernández appears to think so too and that he will be remaining where he is and seeing out his loan deal until next year.
