On New Year’s Eve, we carried a report from Tuttosport, who explained that Gabriel Barbosa, commonly knows as Gabigol’s agent is trying to get West Ham United to agree a deal for the Inter Milan forward.
Having completed his loan spell with Santos where he scored 18 goals in 35 league appearances, the 22-year-old’s future now could be away from San Siro, according to Sky Sports in Italy.
It’s claimed the Brazilian is a ‘concrete goal’ for the Hammers and in recent weeks, the contacts have already started between the two clubs and also with the player’s entourage. Talks are said to be ‘proceeding’ more and more quickly.
Gabigol is also keen on making a switch to the Premier League and whether the deal will take shape or not will depend on whether he can obtain a work permit to play in England.
If he fails to get the clearance, then the Nerazzurri attacker will have to look at other options as he is not short of suitors.
