Udinese’s Antonio Tikvić could be heading towards Watford in the winter market, as per a report from Italy.
Italian journalist Gianluca Di Marzio took to X to share a short update that the Hornets are ‘close to agreeing’ a deal for the centre-back’s transfer.
Gianluca Di Marzio, through his website, has also posted an extra line on this case, stating that the 19-year-old is ‘very close’ to Watford.
He hasn’t provided any further details, on whether the Championship side are looking to sign the defender on loan [with or without an option/obligation to buy] or a permanent transfer.
Both Watford and the Italian club are owned by the Pozzo family and that should make a deal for the teenager relatively easy. If this report is to be true, more details about this move should emerge in the next few hours.
Tikvić made his first appearance for Udinese in their Coppa Italia defeat to Cagliari in November, and his first league appearance came against Fiorentina, earlier this month. The young defender would be hoping to enjoy more minutes at Watford.
