For the past week or so, the Spanish press have been insisting Sevilla are waiting for an offer from Chelsea for Jules Koundé.

On Wednesday, journalist Gianluigi Longari reported the talks are ‘ongoing through an agent’ and ‘not club to club’.

Gianluca Di Marzio now provides a fresh update, stating the defender is ‘very close to moving’ to Stamford Bridge.

It’s said the 22-year-old is ‘about to say goodbye’ to the La Liga side to try a new adventure in the Premier League, where the west London club are ‘very close to closing’ the transfer.

The operation to take the France international to the Champions League winners should go through for a fee of €50m with additional bonuses, that will be triggered if certain conditions are met.

Surprisingly, the figure quoted here is lower than what Sevilla had initially demanded for the centre-back as Diario de Sevilla reported yesterday that Julen Lopetegui’s side were asking at least €70m to let the player leave.

If one were to go with Gianluca Di Marzio’s claims, it looks like Sevilla have lowered their demands for Koundé.
