Even though there’s practically a consensus in the Italian media that Atalanta fullback Robin Gosens is close to joining Leicester City, we now see some conflicting claims regarding the player’s wish to make that move.
The latest story is brought today by website L’Interista, which is obviously related to Inter Milan, and talks about the chances the Nerazzurri have to land the 26-year-old.
They claim that Gosen’s last word regarding a Leicester City move ‘hasn’t been said yet’. Mostly because according to his father, who takes care of his career, the player would rather stay in Italy.
It’s said the fullback would prefer a move to Inter Milan or Juventus instead of making the move to the King Power Stadium.
Even though most outlets have been claiming that Leicester City are currently negotiating with Atalanta for a deal worth €25m, L’Interista claims that Inter Milan or Juventus would need to pay €30m to sign him, with ‘perhaps’ a little discount in case they work on it.
The website makes it clear that Gosens is ‘very close’ to joining the Foxes, with intermediary Paolo Busardò getting the Premier League side’s approval for the transfer, but they still wait for a final word from the player.
