Even though Manchester United haven’t made any January signings yet, they’re expecting someone to join the squad in the coming days.

Amad Diallo was signed in a €21m deal from Atalanta back in October, and should be completing the transfer this month.

There’s been some rumours in the English and the Italian press claiming the Serie A side were asking the Red Devils to let him stay until the end of the season, but it seems that isn’t happening.

Atalanta manager Gian Piero Gasperini has been speaking to the local media today, and when asked about Diallo’s situation, he’s confirmed that the player is soon moving to Old Trafford.

“There seemed to be transfer difficulties but as soon as they are unlocked the player clearly goes to Manchester United,” said the manager (via Corriere Dello Sport).

At the start of the week, the Italian media had already claimed that Diallo had left the country to join the Red Devils, although that trip is still to be officially confirmed.

The youngster was barely used by Atalanta this season, having only 35 minutes in two appearances. That’s not something unusual for him, as he only had three games for the first team when Manchester United went for his signing.
