The name Alessandro Circati isn’t one many Leicester City fans will be aware of, but it’s one they could have heard a lot more going forward if all had gone to plan.
Tha’s because the young defender, who is currently at Parma in Italy, playing for their Primavera squad, had a trial with the Foxes, as he did a tour of Europe to find himself a club.
That was last year, when he was leaving Perth Glory’s U21s, and needed a landing spot elsewhere, with Leicester seemingly giving him a chance to impress them.
This comes from Gazzetta di Parma, relayed by TuttoMercatoWeb, who explain the player went to Hannover in Germany, as well as Bologna in Italy before heading to England.
There, he had trials with Reading and Leicester, but they explain that ‘once he knew of the interest of Parma, the kid preferred them to all the others, being able to go and live with his grandparents in Salsomaggiore and returning home’.
There, he signed a deal which was extended just a couple of months ago, and is now under contract with the Serie B side until 2024.
For those wondering, he was born in Fidenza, which is just outside Parma, hence why it made sense for him to return to where it all started to develop.
