Adil Rami to Crystal Palace has been something of a whirlwind. It started on July 1st when it was reported by L’Equipe that Palace had started negotiations to sign Rami, currently at Sevilla.

The French newspaper then carried the story on by saying Rami already had two offers, and could expect Crystal Palace to quickly add to that number. Interest in France has been largely seen through the angle of Marseille wanting the player, and L’Equipe now claim he’s chosen to join Les Phocéens.

On Tuesday, L’Equipe once again mention Crystal Palace interest, along with that of Turkish club Besiktas, but say the decision has been taken and Rami wants Marseille.

Now the French club have to agree a fee with Sevilla, with a possible transfer fee put at around €4-6m.

Crystal Palace interest was always cruious and perhaps the London club were used to drag a better potential deal out of Marseille. With Rami’s camp contacting Palace, rather than the other way around.
