AC Milan have their eyes set on Arsenal’s Jakub Kiwior, according to Gazzetta dello Sport.

Pierre Kalulu has undergone surgery and is expected to be out until next March.

Kalulu’s setback has seen Milan look for options in the market and the Arsenal defender has now been identified as one of the targets

The 23-year-old can operate as a left centre-back, in a three-man defence and also a left-back, and his addition would be a boost for Stefano Pioli and his side. Gazzetta cover why the Poland international could arrive at the San Siro in January.

The centre-back has made seven league starts since he joined the Gunners from Spezia at the start of this year. This season, he’s clocked in 362 minutes from six matches, out of which two were in the EFL Cup.

He’s currently behind William Saliba and Gabriel Magalhães at Arsenal, and the chances of Kiwior getting ahead of them look slim.

Those close to the player have stated that he always wanted to test himself in the Premier League. At the same time, the report states he ‘left a piece of his heart’ in Italy when he left Spezia for Arsenal.

It’s claimed Kiwior ‘certainly wouldn’t be sad’ to return to Serie A in the winter market. Mikel Arteta’s side have to make a decision on whether or not to allow the Pole leave on loan, possibly with an option to buy.

Gazzetta state Arsenal have a ‘great weight in their story’, meaning they will have the final word on Kiwior’s potential exit from the Emirates.
