Raphinha remains ‘totally convinced’ he can be a success at Barcelona despite his struggles since joining from Leeds United in the summer.

The Brazilian brought an end to his two year spell with Leeds in the summer, eventually securing a £52.2m move to the Nou Camp after turning down other Premier League clubs to make the switch.

He made a positive impression in pre-season but has struggled since, with recent reports explaining that Barcelona were concerned about his attitude and ‘completely baffled’ by his ability to shine in training but not on the pitch.

The suggestion has been that Barcelona aren’t convinced yet but according to Marca, the Brazilian remains positive about the switch.

They explain that while the forward ‘has not been convincing’ in the first part of this season and has ‘looked a bit lost’ at times, partly because of the competition with Ousmane Dembélé, there is still faith in him.

They consider him a ‘strategic signing’ for the future, with Xavi remaining a big fan, and that confidence is shared by the former Leeds star.

He is ‘totally convinced’ he can be an important part of the project at the Nou Camp and is determined to make the move a success after holding out for the transfer.

That conviction has seen him improve in the last two games, where he has won points with Xavi and regained his status as a starter in the team.

An assist against Valencia and two against Viktoria Plzen have ‘shown him the way forward’, although he knows he will have to be more decisive moving forwards if he is to make his transfer from Leeds a success.
