Hannibal Mejbri’s situation with AS Monaco is a complete mess.
The 16 year old hasn’t been training with the club for months, with his family trying to move him to another club.
Manchester United have, throughout the saga, been presented as a possible destination, and interest from the Premier League club is thought to be serious.
Mejbri has a contractual dispute with Monaco. His camp believe that an agreement with the French principality club isn’t enforceable and was entered into against the country’s rules for such things.
They took it to a national committee, but lost because Monaco had already faced a fine over the situation and it wasn’t thought they could be punished twice. The youngster’s family have used this ruling to unilaterally cancel the contract and Le Parisien reports he’s now ‘free to engage’ with whoever he likes, saying Manchester United and Lyon have ‘already sent proposals’.
RMC say there’s a ‘big offer’ from the Premier League club.
The ball is now in Monaco’s court, and whether they try to carry on the legal dispute and drag it through the courts, to try and get a transfer fee, remains to be seen.
