Returning to his former club Real Betis on loan for the season, Arsenal’s Héctor Bellerín had the impact many expected him to.
He’s helped the team fight for a European spot in La Liga and was key in their Copa del Rey victory over Valencia, setting up Borja Iglesias with the game’s opener.
There has since been many rumours about Bellerín staying beyond the current campaign and turning his move from the Gunners into a permanent one; something he would be more than open to.
Estadio Deportivo have an article on the matter on Monday, explaining the player has ‘conquered’ the fanbase ‘with his 80’s moustache and his outfits, in the latest fashion according to connoisseurs’.
There have been rumours of him potentially going back to Barcelona too, but that isn’t the case.
The outlet explain that ‘the reality’ is that the Arsenal loanee ‘is doing his best to get Arsenal to release him cheaply in order to prolong his stay in Heliopolis’.
Whether he achieves his goal remains to be seen, but with Arteta seemingly unwilling to work with Bellerín going forward, it might not be the worst idea to get him off the wage bill and let him spread his wings in a club where he is loved and his fashion sense is seemingly tolerated.
