Celtic have dominated domestic competitions in Scotland for the past few years, with Rangers trying to get back to their best level.
To end the Bhoys dominance, Steven Gerrard was appointed as Rangers manager in the summer, and things are going pretty well.
Barring the defeat at the hands of Aberdeen in the semi-final of the Scottish League Cup, Rangers have done well under the guidance of the former Liverpool midfielder. In the league, they are two points behind Brendan Rodgers’ side, who are leading the table.
Daniel Bachmann has faced both the top two teams from Glasgow this season (Rangers in the League Cup) and the goalkeeper, who is on loan at Kilmarnock, has heaped praise on the work done by Gerrard at Ibrox.
The 24-year-old even claims that Rangers can provide tough competition to Celtic in the title race this term.
“Since he’s there, there’s been a big turnaround, and you can see Rangers are back to the club they were twelve or fifteen years ago. I think they have a chance [to win the title] right up to the end,” Bachmann was quoted as saying by German outlet Spox.
The next big test for Gerrard’s men will be against Rapid Wien in the Europa League clash on Thursday.
