On Monday, El País reported Manchester United have practically closed a deal with Paris Saint-Germain to sign Manuel Ugarte.
ESPN Uruguay journalist Diego Muñoz backs it up and claims the 23-year-old will play for Manchester United this season.
He adds the ‘contract will be signed’ on Tuesday, meaning the midfielder is about to seal a move to Manchester United.
ESPN in Uruguay have provided more updates on this case. They add the player will travel to England in the ‘next few hours’, to carry out a medical and sign his contract with the Red Devils.
Ugarte joined the Ligue 1 winners from Sporting a year ago. He had an irregular debut season under Luis Enrique’s orders and is now set to leave PSG for Manchester United.
RMC Sport journalist Fabrice Hawkins took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to back up claims made in Uruguay.
He claims Manchester United have reached a total agreement with PSG to buy Ugarte for €50m plus €10m in potential bonuses.
The Uruguay international has received authorisation from PSG to travel to England to carry out medical tests with Manchester United today.
After that, he can sign his contract.
