Malmö FF were crowned as champions of Sweden this season and Anel Ahmedhodžić’s performances in their title winning campaign haven’t gone unnoticed.
Last month, reports from Italy stated the defender is on Chelsea’s ‘wanted list’, while AC Milan are monitoring him.
The centre-back’s father had accused his son’s agent of blocking a move to Stamford Bridge, but this suggestion was immediately dismissed by the player.
Chelsea and the Serie A side wanting the Bosnia and Herzegovina international is once again discussed in his country’s media.
According to SportSport.ba, the Blues and the Serie A side are ‘interested’ in the ‘talented’ player, who has a contract with the Swedish side until 2023.
When asked if he’s ready to change clubs when the transfer window reopens next month, the Malmö star said: “I feel absolutely ready. We will see what will happen during the holidays. Until there is something concrete, I am focused on Malmo.”
Ahmedhodžić made these comments just weeks after his agent, Markus Rosenberg admitted “interest in enormous” in his client and the player will listen to transfer offers he receives in January.
Having completed the signings of Thiago Silva and Malang Sarr (now on loan at OGC Nice) during the summer, it remains to be seen whether Frank Lampard’s side will look to sign another centre-back in the winter market.
