Arsenal star Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is attracting interest from elsewhere as his contract at the Emirates is set to expire in 2021.
The Gabon international hasn’t signed an extension and the president of his country’s football association, Pierre Alain Mounguengui, has advised the 30-year-old to leave the Gunners to join an ‘ambitious club’.
Aubameyang has been on the radar of Barcelona, claims Sport on Monday.
The La Liga winners view the former Borussia Dortmund man as the backup option, if they fail to complete the signing of Inter Milan’s Lautaro Martínez.
It’s claimed the Arsenal player has decided against renewing his contract with Mikel Arteta’s side and has asked to leave the north London club when the transfer window opens.
The Catalan newspaper states the player was ‘waiting’ for Barcelona, while at the same time, he has ‘important offers’ from Inter and Paris Saint-Germain.
Therefore, Aubameyang’s chances of wearing the Barcelona shirt next season remain unlikely.
With PSG and Inter keen on Aubameyang, Sport’s report doesn’t provide clarity on where the attacker could end up in the summer.
Aubameyang has 17 goals and an assist in 26 league appearances for Arsenal this season.
