The Marcos Rojo saga could finally have some news by the end of the week, according to claims from the Argentine press.
Following his loan spell at Estudiantes, which expired in June, the defender has stayed in his home country and is yet to meet Manchester United to take a decision regarding his future.
Outlet El Dia now claims that Rojo is not travelling to England, and will ask ‘special permission’ from the Red Devils to continue to train with the La Plata side once they return from the break.
The defender is said to be waiting for a decision on his stay at Estudiantes, as he could extend his loan spell until December.
El Dia says Estudiantes are expecting news, both from Rojo and from their other target José Sosa, before the end of the week.
Marcos Rojo was loaned by Manchester United back in January, but was only able to make one appearance for El Pincha during his spell.
The Red Devils are expected to try to sell the player this summer, and Estudiantes hope he doesn’t receive any good bids so they can keep him for longer.
The defender’s contract with Manchester United expires in 2021.
