Liverpool have been trying to ship out Mamadou Sakho from the club since summer, after he was sent early from pre-season tour of United States due to falling out with Jurgen Klopp.
However, the club have maintained they don’t want to sell Sakho on the cheap, and reports suggest the Merseyside club want as much as £20m.
Last night, Crystal Palace emerged as a serious possibility destination for Sakho ahead of the transfer deadline tonight. It was reported Crystal Palace have made an offer for Sakho, as it appeared Sam Allardyce is willing to bet on the 26-year-old.
On Tuesday, French newspaper L’Equipe have shared more details on the situation of Sakho at Liverpool. L’Equipe say Sakho is expected to leave the Merseyside club tonight, as Crystal Palace are the only club who can pay £20m for him.
It’s been reported Sakho wanted to stay in England, and play for a top five club, but it seems he has to settle for relegation threatened side Crystal Palace.
The player has requested a ‘few hours of reflection’ before joining Crystal Palace, which seems to mean ‘a few hours to see if anyone higher up the table comes in’.
