On November 3rd, we carried a report from Denmark’s BT, who explained West Ham United are close to completing a deal for Frederik Alves.
It was also stressed the ‘talented’ centre-back will sign a contract with the Hammers until 2024 and will arrive in London in the winter market.
The Silkeborg IF defender was also spotted in the English capital along with his agent earlier this week. BT explained the defender travelled to London to undergo his medical with the Premier League club.
Earlier today, Silkeborg ‘confirmed sale of Frederik Alves’ on their official website and the deal will be completed when the transfer window opens in January.
The statement also stated only a ‘work and residence permit’ is pending for the 20-year-old to change clubs.
‘Silkeborg IF Invest A/S has informed the Copenhagen Stock Exchange this morning that the sale of Frederik Alves Ibsen has come a big step closer. The notice indicates that SIF has received information that the player’s individual conditions are met. Thus, the only residence and work permit for Frederik Alves Ibsen remains,’ the statement read.
‘The company expects this to fall into place before the end of the year, allowing the player to formally change clubs in January 2021.’
Although the Danish side didn’t reveal where Alves will move next, the player being spotted in London this week for a West Ham medical would suggest he will join David Moyes’ side at the start of next year.
