Angelo Gabriel’s transfer from Santos to Chelsea is now done, according to reports from Brazil.
UOL reports that on Thursday the clubs closed the €15m agreement for the youngster’s move to Stamford Bridge.
The outlet says Angelo is ready to sign a six-year contract with Chelsea, with the option for an extra season.
It’s claimed that the transfer was ‘unblocked’ only on Thursday because the clubs were waiting for Barcelona to communicate they wouldn’t use their preference over the player.
Now UOL claims that Angelo is expected in London ‘between Sunday and Monday’ to complete the move.
Previous reports from Brazil had claimed that the winger already completed the first set of medicals examinations prior to the transfer.
Angelo was expected to play for Santos on Thursday evening in the Copa Sul Americana match against Blooming, but he was pushed out of the team and didn’t sit on the bench.
It’s been claimed that Chelsea will test the 18-year-old in pre-season, and only then Mauricio Pochettino will decide whether to keep him in the squad or loan him out.
