Said Benrahma scored nine goals and registered five assists in 31 Ligue 2 appearances for Châteauroux last season. He joined the second tier French club on loan from OGC Nice last summer and has done enough to attract interest from England.

On June 27th, we carried a report from RMC Sport, who claimed scouts from Premier League side Huddersfield Town and Championship club Brentford watched the forward in action during the 2017/18 season.

Two days later, the player’s agent Yacine Ayad revealed “discussions are well advanced” with Brentford for Benrahma. The Algerian international’s representative also mentioned his client has several other offers, which were being looked at.

According to L’Equipe, Benrahma has decided to join Brentford. The Ligue 1 outfit and the second division club in England have agreed a €3m fee that will see the 22-year-old move to Griffin Park in the summer transfer window.

Benrahma will travel to England and will undergo his medical at Brentford on Tuesday. The African player is set to sign a five-year deal with the Bees.
