Kristian Pedersen, who’s he?
The 23 year old is a left footer who mainly plays at left back but who can also play in central defence or on the left wing if needed. He’s currently playing for Union Berlin in the Bundesliga 2, with the club in 9th position in the league.
A handful of Denmark U21 appearances haven’t been followed up with any senior recognition, and he’s represented by Boutique Transfers.
This matters to Leeds United because Bild say the player has ‘aroused the interest’ of the club.
It’s very unlikely the German newspaper would fabricate a rumour about a Bundesliga 2 player moving to the Championship, so there’s probably something in this for Leeds.
With the player having a contract until June 2019, he could probably be picked up for a couple of million or less.
The agent connection would be helpful. Boutique Transfers have a record of bringing players to England. Their best known client is probably Nicklas Bendtner, but they also represent Zanka and Jonas Lossl, both of Huddersfield Town, Martin Braithwaite, once of Middlesbrough, and West Ham’s Winston Reid.
Mateusz Klich is so frank, it's brilliant.
“When I came to Leeds, the technical director told me that we would play well. But when we had a bad period after a good start, we threw everything overboard."
