Earlier this month, journalist Bruno Andrade stated Manchester United’s Casemiro could be on his way to Saudi Arabia in the winter market.

Casemiro started against Newcastle United since Manuel Ugarte was serving a suspension, and it was his only league start since December 1st.

The midfielder has lost his place under Ruben Amorim and has an opportunity to leave Manchester United.

UOL has a report on the 32-year-old and their title says ‘Saudi approaches Casemiro after Cristiano Ronaldo’s insistence’.

The Brazilian played with the forward at Real Madrid and Manchester United, and Ronaldo now wants to reunite with him at Al-Nassr. The report states 39-year-old Portuguese has been ‘acting as a true lobbyist’ to help his side sign Casemiro in this window.

Ronaldo initially suggested his former teammate’s name to the Middle Eastern club and then convinced their officials to contact Manchester United to discuss the transfer.

UOL state Casemiro earns £18.2m per year and this, coupled with his limited role, could see the Premier League side not put any obstacles to sanction a move.

Al-Nassr have to release a foreign player in order to register the Manchester United man. The report states this shouldn’t be an issue as Anderson Talisca, Sadio Mané and Aymeric Laporte are among the candidates to leave the club.

There’s no mention of the fee the Saudi Arabian club are willing to offer to sign the South American.
