It doesn’t take much of a search on Sport Witness to understand the absolute mess Boulaye Dia found himself in after his failed move to Wolverhampton Wanderers.
We covered that situation extensively at the time and afterwards but today we can offer something a little different, as there’s positive news after all, via Tuttomercatoweb.
First, for those that don’t know, Dia was linked with a move to Wolves last summer and was extremely keen on the idea of a switch to the Premier League club.
Salernitana refused to let it happen, though, turning down a late offer from Wolves in that summer transfer window and then openly mocking it at a press conference.
Wolves were again linked in the summer window just gone, but Dia eventually ended up on loan at Lazio instead, where he has been warmly welcomed and hit the ground running, managing six goals and one assist so far.
TMW explain that Dia ‘is reborn in Rome’ with a double against Dynamo Kiev in the Europa League making him the club’s top goalscorer this season.
He has ‘shifted into a different gear’ at his new club, showing a completely different player to the one who had fallen into misery at Salernitana.
Those who are watching him believe a ‘clear idea of rebirth’ is playing out in front of them and are optimistic he could be in for a much better season this time around.
It’s a real, early turnaround for the player, who seems to have put the misery of that failed move to Wolves behind him and is now determined to kick on and prove himself at Lazio.
