Claims of Niklas Haugland moving to Leeds United have been strong over the past few days, with the Norwegian youngster expected to move to the Championship club from Fana.

At 16 years of age it’s a big move, but Haugland wasn’t short of choices. His own club have confirmed he’s been on several trials at big European sides, and media in Germany today accepted Bayern Munich had lost out on the transfer ‘fight’ to Leeds United.

With a move expected to be confirmed directly by Leeds United soon, the player himself appears to have confirmed it already.

An Instagram account said to belong to Haugland has posted an image of him at the club’s facilities holding a Leeds United shirt with his name printed on the back.

To that he’s added ‘Very happy and pleased to sign a 3 year contract with Leeds United’.

It’s very likely to be a genuine account, unless someone has been impersonating a Norwegian 16 year old for quite some time.
