Twitter woke up today with several claims about Lucas Moura’s transfer from Paris Saint Germain to Tottenham Hotspur.

As usual in social media, not all information is accurate, especially when translated from a foreign language. So even though everyone has read the news by now, we thought we better clear things up a little bit.

Apparently it was Esporte Interativo who reported it first. Last night, they claimed the player was already in London and ‘should be announced’ by manager Mauricio Pochettino.

Things kept silent until this morning, when in an update, they explained the situation better, and even though the negotiations seem to be advanced, the deal is still not done.

According to reporter Isabela Pagliari, PSG authorised Lucas’ flight to London, and the player managed to make a visit to Tottenham Hotspur’s headquarters.

But there are still a few details to be agreed. The reporter claims negotiations continue, as although PSG want the Brazilian sold, Tottenham’s idea is to get him on a loan deal with a buying option. The transfer amount should be between €20m and €25m, regardless of the business model.

Isabella also claims that there’s a ‘farewell feeling’ in PSG’s dressing room, which makes it clear the player is really set to make the move.

Recent rumours have been also linking him to a La Liga transfer, but this isn’t even mentioned in Esporte Interativo’s stories.

And even though some rumours on Twitter have been crediting UOL, the only thing the Brazilian website has today is an article covering claims from The Telegraph.
