Thiago Alcântara’s contract at Bayern Munich runs down in 2021 and last Friday, Sport reported the midfielder has already agreed a deal to join Liverpool.
It was also explained negotiations between the Reds and the Bavarian club are ‘very advanced’.
Since then, Bayern CEO Karl-Heinz Rummenigge has admitted the 29-year-old wants to move elsewhere this summer.
Jürgen Klopp has not done anything to dismiss the rumours, and when asked about the Spaniard in recent days, he said: “Thiago Alcantara is a really good player. Like a lot of other players out there, I like him a lot. But that’s all I have to say about that.”
Today’s edition of Sport states the former Barcelona man could end up at Anfield this summer.
With the player’s desire to leave the Bundesliga winners for a new club, Sport add there could not be any better destination than Liverpool, who ‘have a place reserved’ for the Bayern star. Klopp also would like to have Thiago in his side.
The newspaper states: ‘With all these ingredients in the broth, the result can only be a transfer’ of Thiago to the Premier League club.
The Catalan publication seems confident about Thiago joining Liverpool, while the same has not been reciprocated by the German and the English media.
