Daley Blind to Ajax should be announced quickly. The versatile Manchester United player has been keen to return to his former club, knowing he’s not going to have a big role under Jose Mourinho.
Signed by Louis van Gaal, the Dutchman has played in several different positions for the Premier League club but at Ajax he has a much better chance of getting time in his favoured midfield role.
De Telegraaf report Blind will be moving for a €16m transfer fee, an amount which can rise to €21m when bonuses are taken into account.
The transfer is so close to being done that Blind has joined his soon to be new teammates at St George’s Park. Ajax are preparing at the English FA facilities ahead of their Champions League preliminary match.
Benfica are also at St George’s Park, with clubs from several countries now using the centre every summer, Barcelona have been twice in recent years.
