Watford are set to complete the signing of Udinese defender Samir, according to reports.
Brazilian journalist Venê Casagrande today writes that the player has already had his medicals and signed a contract with the Hornets.
The deal is set to run until the summer of 2025, with an option for a further one.
It’s claimed that following the trip to get the deal done, Samir is now returning to Italy, and only then will he ‘definitely present himself’ to Watford.
The move is also reported by UOL, where journalist Bruno Andrade confirms the three-and-a-half-year deal. He says the transfer was made easier because of the ‘partnership’ between the clubs.
Now despite both sources confirming the deal, none of them say how much Watford are paying for the move. Samir had a deal with Udinese running until 2023, and is currently valued by Transfermarkt at €5m.
Even though the Brazilian media takes the move as done, reports from Italy have been claiming the negotiations are only ‘advanced’ for now, taking it a little easier.
