Sevilla believe Jules Koundé’s move to Chelsea ‘is a done deal’, and he will move to Stamford Bridge in the next few days.
That’s according to AS, who say the deal to take the Frenchman to London will be around €60m plus variables.
The Spanish side are keen to get a deal over the line as quickly as possible so they can plan for the future.
They’ve already sold Diego Carlos to Aston Villa for around €35m, and the expectation is that he will be followed by Koundé out the exit door.
The defender has received other offers but had ‘already agreed terms’ with Chelsea, despite them not being able to do any transfer business due to the sanctions imposed on Roman Abramovich.
He is now close to selling the club after the Portuguese government’s foreign ministry sanctioned it as Abramovich holds a Portuguese passport.
That’s taken then the takeover at the club closer to completion, and a deal is now expected ‘in the coming days’.
Sevilla have already turned their attention to signing replacements for Koundé and Carlos, a further sign that they’re confident the former’s move to Chelsea will be completed.
There’s no mention of the contract that Koundé has agreed with the Blues, but when they were chasing him last year, it was reported he had agreed on a five-year deal worth €4m gross per season so expect the numbers to be in that region.
