Most of the European media might be busy with Paul Pogba’s pending arrival at Manchester United, but the biggest mystery of the transfer window could be the transfer of Clinton N’Jie to Marseille, and Georges-Kevin N’koudou to Tottenham.
Marseille had a loan deal with the option to buy for €7m agreed for N’Jie, whilst Tottenham also had a €13m deal agreed for N’Koudou.
Both the players were expected to complete their moves to the respective clubs over a week ago, but there seems to be no further updates.
French website La Provence on Friday try to analyse the situation. It is reported Vincent Labrune started negotiations for both the players in June, and that N’Jie had even completed his medical on July 20th.
La Provence say N’Koudou is staying at a hotel in England and very eager to get things done, whilst N’Jie is also absent from training, which could be due to injury.
The French website suggest wages could be an issue, or maybe either club asked a higher or lower transfer fee at the last minute, but they don’t seem to be confident about it and are just speculating.
Sport Witness heard from France this week that it was the Tottenham side holding up N’Koudou negotiations, although it wasn’t clear if that in turn was related to N’Jie.
