Liverpool are once again strongly linked to Theo Hernandez, on loan at Alaves from Atletico Madrid, this time by Thursday’s edition of Mundo Deportivo. The Spanish newspaper say Liverpool are one of a number of clubs to submit ‘important’ offers to Theo about a summer transfer.
Those offers are related to the wages Theo would receive, because any transfer fee would simply have to be the player’s €24m buyout clause.
Along with Liverpool, PSG, Liverpool, Bayern Munich and Real Madrid have all submitted offers, and Theo is now studying them with his agent Manuel Garcia Quilon. Mundo Deportivo believe the player has picked Barcelona as his preference, but then they believe that of every player on the planet.
The problem is, Barcelona haven’t offered the most money, and what they have put forward isn’t acceptable to Theo, who feels he could push past Jordi Alba without too much trouble.
Liverpool’s hope isn’t extinguished and with money seemingly so important, they could perhaps up their offer in that regard.
Theo Hernandez is 19 years of age and primarily a left back who can also play on the left wing and in central defence, he’d be a great addition to Jurgen Klopp’s squad.
