PSV Eindhoven youngster Noni Madueke has admitted he finds the links to Leicester City ‘flattering’ but is not focusing on the rumours.
Madueke has found himself heavily linked with a move away from PSV this summer, having reportedly grown frustrated over a lack of playing time.
Leicester have been linked on several occasions, with it claimed at the end of last month that they have a ‘concrete’ interest in bringing the winger to the club.
Several reports since then have indicated that he is available for as little as €20m, a price Leicester could probably afford comfortably if they qualify for the Champions League.
Whether Brendan Rodgers and co make such a bid remains to be seen, but in the meantime, Madueke has admitted he finds the links flattering.
“A player with ambitions always wants to play more,” he told ESPN, relayed by Voetbal Primeur.
“If I had made twice as many minutes, I would have wanted to play even more. That’s just how it goes, I think.
“I’ve heard some (rumours), but don’t really read it. Of course, it’s nice to hear when clubs want you.
“That means you are doing well, and you have something to offer. It’s flattering, but I’m not too concerned with it.”
“It’s an honour to be linked with a club like Dortmund. It’s nice that they see me as a successor to Jadon, who is a great player.
“But I won’t go too deep into it, because we are still busy with this season.”
