As France Football publishes what they say is the wishlist of several clubs, Pep Gaurdiola’s plans for Manchester City are detailed by the outlet.
The French magazine claims that the manager’s priority is to find a replacement for Fernandinho, who’s about to turn 34. And the main target would be Atletico Madrid’s Rodrigo, valued at €70m.
Other targets for the position would be Lyon’s Houssem Aouar and Tanguy Ndombélé. Sporting midfielder Bruno Fernandes, who’s actually a more attacking player, would also be on the list.
When it comes to the Lyon player, it’s stated he’s ‘being actively tracked’ by City.
France Football also writes that that Benjamin Mendy and Oleksandr Zinchenko haven’t been convincing in the left-back position, so Manchester City would have a few more names to replace them.
The left-backs who Guardiola are watching would be Leicester City’s Ben Chilwell and Borussia Dortmund’s Raphael Guerreiro. For the right side, France Football adds the name of the Crystal Palace fullback Aaron Wan-Bissaka.
The outlet adds that Financial Fair Play allows Manchester City to spend €150m in the summer.
We doubt France Football really have an inside line of what City want this summer, or about any chases involving players who aren’t in France. Therefore, it’s the claims on Aouar and Ndombélé which are to be taken notice of.
