ESPN Brasil this week features an interview with Andreas Pereira, who joined Fulham in a move from Manchester United this summer.

The midfielder, who signed a four-year contract with the Craven Cottage side, spoke about his choice of moving to London, and ended up speaking about a Brazilian teammate he may soon get.

In the past few weeks, there have been many rumours regarding Willian’s arrival at Fulham. The winger is a free agent since rescinding his contract with Corinthians, and has never hidden that after leaving Brazil, his plan was to move back to London with his family.

Andreas Pereira not only claimed he’d like his compatriot to join him at the Whites, but also revealed that the two have been speaking, even though it isn’t yet clear whether the 34-year-old will join.

“Willian always has a place, right, I think. With the quality he has, he’s already shown it. Of course he has a place here at Fulham and it would be an honour to play with him. But let’s see what time will tell,” Andreas Pereira told ESPN.

“He said he’s here in England, he’s looking at the options he’s going to receive. I, of course, played my role, already told him that Fulham are a good club for him to play, that it would be an honour to play with him here, that he would help us a lot. So let’s see what will happen.

“He can bring goals, assists, he has experience. He’s already played, won the Premier League, if I’m not mistaken. That’s what counts. He has a lot of experience, he can help us when we are in a more complicated phase, you know, how to deal with it. Well, I don’t need to talk about his qualities, everyone knows. So hopefully he can agree with the club.”

This week, we’ve covered reports from Brazil claiming the talks between Willian and Fulham are ‘stagnant’, as the player is also evaluating other offers from England and European clubs. It’s said that so far, despite an invitation for him to train at the Whites’ facilities, things have not advanced.
