Everton defender Jarrad Branthwaite has been criticised for his style of play, with it insisted he’s only had one good game for his loan club so far.
The defender joined PSV on loan from Everton in the summer, reuniting with Marcel Brands, the man who signed him for the Toffees.
He made the move to secure regular first team football that wasn’t on offer under Frank Lampard this season.
He’s been playing regularly for his new club since, with eight appearances in all competitions so far, including two in a Champions League qualifying clash against Rangers.
His displays thus far have been met with a largely positive response, with PSV understanding he is one several developing players in their squad and Everton happy to see him getting minutes.
It seems not everyone is impressed by the 20-year-old, though, with journalist Valentijn Driessen singling him out for criticism today.
“PSV actually still have the most hits,” Soccer News report him saying regarding their transfer business.
“But that Branthwaite, that Everton loanee. They were proud at PSV that he kicked a ball into the stands against Rangers in a ruthless manner.
“But he also does that when he doesn’t need to! Then he just shoots them into the stands too. He played one good game, that was against Feyenoord. Then he did quite nicely.”
