Club Brugge star Andreas Skov Olsen ‘should play for Tottenham’ as he’s too good to be playing in Belgium.
That’s according to Brugge icon Paul Okon, who has urged the winger to think about his options and, seemingly, push to join Tottenham.
Olsen has been in fine form for the Belgian side so far this season, with 17 goals and five assists in 31 games in all competitions a superb tally to say the least.
Those numbers are a dramatic improvement on what he managed last season, when he only had nine goals and seven assists in 30 games in all competitions for the club.
It’s, predictably, led to questions about his future, with there likely to be suitors in this window and again in the summer should he continue to perform as he has done so far.
The 24-year-old already has admirers in the Premier League, with Burnley showing an interest in the summer transfer window and Tottenham being heavily linked throughout last year’s January transfer window.
Whether they are still in the picture is unknown but it’s likely he’s a player on their radar as they continue to rebuild the squad for Ange Postecoglou.
Okon would certainly like to see that happen, believing Olsen is too good to be playing for his former club and should instead be at Tottenham.
“Andreas… Andreas should never play for Club Brugge,” he told Het Laatste Nieuws.
“And I don’t say that out of disrespect for Club. Skov Olsen is a footballer for the absolute top in Europe.
“He should play for Tottenham, with their Australian coach Postecoglou – that’s how good Andreas is. You have to ask him why he still plays in Belgium…”
