Shakhtar Donetsk midfielder Fred still can’t hide his excitement at being linked to the likes of Manchester City and Manchester United.

The Brazilian has been constantly giving interviews to his home country press, and never tries to escape when asked about these transfer rumours.

This week, Fred has spoken to Goal Brasil, and once again made it clear that his staff have been working on a move.

“It’s always good to hear that the big clubs are looking for me, it’s a sign that my work is being done well, I need to keep working hard at Shakhtar, always with my feet on the ground. Meanwhile, behind it all, my staff is forwarding this transfer, it’s in their hands.”

“I’m just focused on Shakhtar. My staff and my family are working on the issue of a transfer. I’m sure that together with my club, they will choose the best way for me.”

Goal claims that Fred is in advanced negotiations to close his transfer to Manchester City, but Manchester United also have a strong interest in signing him.

Back in February, the very same website claimed that Pep Guardiola’s side are close to signing the midfielder on a deal worth €50m. They said the agreement was expected to be reached when the summer transfer window opens, so there would be a couple more months for things to be done.
