‘Plans are already being made’ – Club want deal with Chelsea, Blues likely to play hardball

On Monday, we covered a report from Gazzetta dello Sport which hyped up Fikayo Tomori’s quick impact at AC Milan.

The central defender joined the Rossoneri on loan in the winter market, with Milan having a clause to make the move permanent. That option is set at €28m, and represents a big investment for the Serie A side.

Gazzetta covered Tomori’s second performance, a 4-0 victory over Crotone. Of the Chelsea player’s contribution, they stated he had ‘confirmed’ his ability with his performance, ‘always present’ and acting as the ‘buffer’.

The Italian newspaper praised Tomori further, seemingly especially impressed by his attitude during the match and his approach to football generally.

Given all of that, it’s no surprise to see Milan News claiming ‘plans are already being made’ to sign the defender on a permanent basis.

So they’ll use the €28m clause then? Probably not.

It’s also reported there’s a chance of the club trying to talk Chelsea into giving a discount on the €28m figure, which was always likely to be the case anyway.
