Fulham took Joachim Andersen on a loan deal from Lyon on deadline day of the last window.

The centre-back left Sampdoria for the Ligue 1 side in 2019 and having struggled in his debut season in France, the Dane was allowed to join the Cottagers on a temporary deal.

Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur were previously linked before he agreed to join Lyon.

BT in Denmark claims the defender is now having a lot of success at Craven Cottage after rejecting ‘big clubs’ in the past.

The 24-year-old has ‘moved all the way to the top’ at Fulham in ‘record time’, and this suggests he made the ‘right career choice’.

According to the report, it’s well known that Manchester United and Tottenham looked at Andersen before he moved to Lyon.

BT provides specific reasons why he decided against joining either of the two English clubs.

It’s claimed Andersen ‘rejected’ Tottenham because the ‘possibility of resale was poor’, and gave a ‘cold shoulder’ to the Old Trafford club because of the uncertainty around Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s future.

There were also bids from AC Milan and Valencia, but Champions League football weighed in his decision to pick Lyon.

BT state the player picked Fulham in the summer as Scott Parker was ‘crazy’ for his signing and the agreement also included a good financial deal.
