Manchester United have struggled defensively this season despite the arrival of Raphaël Varane in the last window.

Victor Lindelöf and Eric Bailly have not been consistent with their performances, while it’s been a long time since Phil Jones last made an appearance. This has seen the Red Devils  linked to Leicester City’s Wesley Fofana and Sevilla’s Jules Koundé in recent weeks.

On October 22nd, But! Football Club stated the Foxes star is a ‘priority target’ for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side, who are ‘very hot’ on his trail.

The Old Trafford club have now received encouragement after the centre-back publicly expressed his admiration towards them.

Actu Foot invited the 20-year-old for a Twitter Space session on Wednesday, hosted by journalist Fabrice Hawkins, during which Fofana admitted United are among his dream clubs.

“A club that makes me dream? There’s Marseille, Real Madrid, Barça. In the Premier League, there are Chelsea, United, City… But you have to work to make your dreams come true. Through work, you can achieve anything,” he said.

“Playing for Marseille one day? Maybe we’ll see. I have been a Marseille supporter since I was born. Marseille is a dream. We don’t know what football is made of.”

A fibula fracture has forced Fofana to spend time away from the pitch since the start of August. The defender admitted he is hoping to return to action at the end of this year.

“I’m starting to see the end of the tunnel. The return is coming soon. It will be at the end of December, if all goes well,” Fofana explained.
