At the end of last month, Tottenham Hotspur defender Juan Foyth told TyC Sports he is open to leaving Spurs this summer through “either a sale or a loan”.
The Argentina international also stressed his priority is to continue in Europe.
Leeds United have been one of the clubs linked with the centre-back in the past few months.
The Whites have achieved promotion to the Premier League for the first time in 16 years, and their plan to strengthen the squad includes signing José Mourinho’s man.
This is according to TuttoMercatoWeb, and their short report’s headline states ‘Foyth getting closer’ to Leeds.
It’s claimed the South American is valued around £15m, and Marcelo Bielsa’s side ‘seems willing to spend’ that amount to seal the player’s signing.
TMW also add there’s ‘great optimism’ at Elland Road to close the deal to acquire the 22-year-old’s services.
Foyth has struggled with injuries in the 2019/20 season, and has not featured for Tottenham in this calendar year.
Having made it clear he’s not against leaving the north London club, a move to Leeds will see Foyth fulfil his desire to continue in Europe.
