On July 1st, L’Equipe reported Stade Rennais have identified Leeds United’s Glen Kamara as a target this summer.

Two days later, we covered claims from France that the 28-year-old is a serious option for the Ligue 1 side.

On Thursday, Ouest France said Stade Rennais are trying to find an agreement with the Leeds player over personal terms before contacting the Whites.

Saturday’s edition of Ouest France provides the latest on the French club’s efforts to sign the midfielder.

Stade Rennais have sent Fabian Rieder on loan to VfL Wolfsburg, and are in the process of selling Enzo Le Fée to AS Roma. These deals would force them to strengthen midfield and this is where the Leeds man fits in for them.

The Ligue 1 side appreciates the Finland international’s profile, and an agreement with him over personal terms is ‘already in the works’.

The French club will also have to convince Daniel Farke’s side to secure his services. To do that, they have to first make contact with Leeds, something they haven’t bothered to do so far.

That’s ever so slightly frustrating because Leeds obviously deserve to know, and Satde Rennais’ hopes may collapse anyway when they find out the asking price.

Kamara’s deal lasts until 2027, and the Championship side would need a reasonable fee to sanction his sale this summer.
