Niclas Fullkrug also hasn’t done too much at West Ham since his arrival.
The German remains out of action due to injury after making three Premier League appearances, and the money spent on him seems hasn’t shown the desired returns yet.
It now appears as though the Hammers are looking at the possibility of signing another striker.
The player in question is Igor Jesus, who plies his trade with Brazilian side Botafogo. West Ham’s interest in the 23-year-old has been confirmed by the Brazilian club’s majority shareholder John Textor.
The American told O Dia about the player’s situation, also revealing that Botafogo are keen on keeping him at the club.
“I spoke to West Ham, I spoke to four other Premier League teams, two from La Liga and a German team. But I told them that he (Igor Jesus) is focused on the championship.
“He is the prototype of the perfect striker, he turns, moves, is dynamic, runs, has finishing… He impressed many people.”
The Brazil international has scored eight times for Botafogo since joining, also assisting three times in 23 games.
Those are pretty decent numbers but considering the instability at West Ham, they may wait a while longer to make a decision about signing him.
