There’s some interesting claims coming from Italy this afternoon on Pepe Reina to Aston Villa.
Earlier today we relayed claims AC Milan won’t let the player go until they’ve found themselves a replacement. It was later reported the Rossoneri’s first choice is Emiliano Viviano, who is currently a free agent having left Sporting.
Now multiple Italian sources are reporting a meeting between Reina and his agent Manuel Garcia Quilon at The Westin Palace Hotel in Milan. Calciomercato report that after meeting Reina, the agent went back to Milan’s headquarters, likely to try and get their approval for his impending exit.
The representative was photographed going back into ‘Casa Milan’, so there’s photographic proof of all this happening… real transfer drama stuff.
Interestingly, Samu Castillejo was photographed with Reina. He’s also been linked with a transfer, although it’s been thought likelier the winger could be moving back to Spain, where he’s said to have offers.
Manuel Garcia Quilon also represents Castillejo, so the agent is clearly busy trying to build deals. There’s no suggestion of Aston Villa interest in the attacker, but don’t be surprised if that appears.
