Manchester City couldn’t quite take the final steps to land Andrea Cambiaso in the winter transfer window.
The Citizens were heavily linked with the Italian but they ended up signing Nico Gonzalez late in the window, making sure that Cambiaso stayed in Turin.
TuttoSport have provided a background about the Italy international and have now assessed the possibility of his summer move to Manchester City.
They believe that Financial Fair Play regulations denied the English champions from signing the full-back, but Pep Guardiola still wants Cambiaso ‘at all costs’.
The outlet feel that two factors can determine Manchester City’s move for the 24-year-old. The first pertains to any potential bans that can be imposed on them and if they face a transfer ban, Cambiaso will definitely not move to the Etihad.
Secondly, the ex-Genoa player could also stay in Turin if Guardiola ends up leaving Manchester City in the summer.
As of now, Cambiaso is ‘tempted’ by the idea of playing under the Spaniard. He is in no hurry to make a final decision and will wait until the end of the season to think about where his future could lie.
Juve will not accept a fee that is less than €70m and club sporting director Cristiano Guintoli will be happy to sell the defender to another club, if Manchester City do not meet that asking price.
